The PBST cast-in-place post base is designed to provide a strong, reliable connection between wood posts and concrete. It offers a smart solution for decks, patio covers, porches and other outdoor structures. Ideal for residential construction, the PBST delivers high allowable loads and excellent performance with S-shaped stiffening tabs that enhance download capacity. A ZMAX finish offers added corrosion resistance, and embossed vertical straps contribute to overall strength. The base maintains a 1″ standoff to help protect posts from moisture-related rot and it installs into concrete with minimal side clearance.
The PBST can be fastened with nails, bolts or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws. The patent-pending design of the PBST delivers a durable, code-listed performance and serves as a replacement for PBS models, delivering improved functionality while meeting structural requirements.
Installation:
- Fasteners required. (14) 0.162″ x 3-1/2″ Nails or (2) 1/2″ Bolts
- Install either nails, bolts or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws
- Install PBST with bottom of standoff flush to top of concrete
- Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and therefore are not recommended for non-top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)
