Steel straps are a versatile fixing option widely specified in NZS3604:2011 for stud to bottom/top plate, lintel and rafter connections. As per NZS3604:2011a 6kN capacity can be achieved with one strap (6 x30 x 3.15mm nails each end) or 12kN with two straps (6 x30 x 3.15mm nails each end).
